Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The NAIA released its Scholar-Team for the 2015-16 school year, and four programs from Williams Baptist College found themselves on the list. Women’s Cross Country, Volleyball, Softball and Men’s Soccer were all given the prestigious honor.
The Lady Eagles cross country team led the way with a 3.44 G.P.A., followed by volleyball (3.30), softball (3.12), and soccer with a 3.07.
“We are proud of our programs for representing our institution in an admirable way on and off the field of play,” said Director of Athletics, Jeff Rider.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
