Rezoning could bring convenience store or restaurant to south Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Two pieces of property along Southwest Drive in Jonesboro were rezoned Tuesday night.

The Jonesboro City Council unanimously approved rezoning land at 5110 Southwest Drive from residential to commercial use. The 2.46 acres is located directly north of the Valley View School District.

According to the applicant of the rezoning, they plan to market the land toward a convenience store or restaurant.

Just a couple of miles down the road, land in the 5900-block of Southwest Drive was rezoned from residential to industrial use.

The applicant stated they plan to build 50,000 square feet of self-storage units on the 3.63-acre plot of land.
