Woman killed by vehicle in accident identified

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - UPDATE: Blytheville police have identified a woman who was killed in a vehicle accident Sunday.

Lakeyda Brown, 37, of Blytheville died after the crash, according to Capt. Scott Adams.

Brown was struck while walking in the road on South Division St. just before 9 p.m.

She was taken to the Great River Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Family members contacted police and later identified Brown early Monday morning.

An accident report and death investigation was conducted.

Adams states the department does not anticipate any charges to be filed against the driver at this time.

The Blytheville Police Department needs the public's help identifying a woman killed in an accident.

According to Capt. Scott Adams, a woman was hit by a vehicle near Raben Tire on South Division Street just before 9 p.m. Sunday.

Adams said they do not have a positive identification of the woman.

He is asking for the public's help identifying her.

Adams described her as a black woman in her mid to late 20s. She was wearing a University of Central Arkansas wristband.

Adams said she had no tattoos.

The driver pulled over after the accident, but Adams could not release any other details.
