New Orleans, LA (A-State) – Arkansas State head football coach Blake Anderson, along with senior offensive lineman Jemar Clark and senior defensive back Cody Brown traveled to New Orleans, La., to take part in the Sun Belt Conference's annual media day events at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The Red Wolves spent a full day being interviewed by local, regional and national media including representatives from ESPN and American Sports Radio. The day also included several photo shoots with ESPN and the College Football Playoff and visits to the Sun Belt Conference social media suite.
Anderson, who also took part in a live segment on ESPN3 in the afternoon, said the day was about an opportunity to bring exposure to the program.
"We are really, really excited about the group of guys we have coming back and what is possible for this season," Anderson said. "We have been answering questions all day about it, but a lot of nervous energy is built up in the staff and players going into the fall with really, really high expectations."
Clark and Brown also had a chance to put on their jerseys and helmets for a photo shoot with ESPN, and also took part in a youth football clinic at Joe Brown Park in New Orleans on Sunday morning. Following the clinic the players and coaches attended a Sun Belt Social at Fulton Alley.
Arkansas State will kick off its season with a home game against Toledo on Friday, Sept. 2. Season tickets for the Red Wolves' 2016 football campaign, which includes six home games, are available for purchase. Arkansas State has strung together 11 consecutive years with a winning home record dating back to 2005 and has won 26 of its last 30 games at Centennial Bank Stadium.
