JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 boy who loves police and superheroes met both the other day.
Levi Meadows and his mother Ashley were having lunch at Chick-fil-A when a Jonesboro police officer walked in.
"He saw the police officer walk in and he gets excited and says 'Mom there is a cop,'" Ashley said.
However, when it came to talking to the officer, Levi was shy.
"I told him to go talk to him, but he was not having any part of it, he didn't want to say anything," Ashley said.
Levi's mom told him to be brave and talk to one of his heroes.
"I told him you can't be bashful, you are Batman, Batman is not bashful," Ashley said.
That is when the officer realized he could connect with Levi by showing him that he was not only a police officer but also Superman.
"He said well I guess he needs to know my secret, and he unbuttons his uniform, and he has on this Superman shirt," Ashley said.
Levi's wall instantly came down, and he started talking to his two heroes: the officer and Superman.
Ashley said she was so pleased to see such a kind gesture from the officer.
"It was pretty awesome to see an officer that was really into Superman and making my little man's day," Ashley said.
Ashley told Region 8 News this is not the first time Jonesboro police have connected with her son.
She said a few officers eating dinner took time out of their break to show Levi a police cruiser.
