TIMELINE: Two men rescued from grain bin

MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) -

Emergency crews rescued two people trapped in a grain bin in Marked Tree, AR Tuesday.

According to Marked Tree Dispatch, the two people were trapped in a bin at Ritter Grain Services on Adamson Road.

Dispatch took the initial call around 11:40 a.m. Here's how the rescue transpired:


4:39 p.m. UPDATE: The second man has now been pulled from the grain bin. We still do not know the condition of either man. 


4:35 p.m. UPDATE: Crews have pulled one man from the bin. We do not know his condition yet. 

They are still working to get the second man out. 


2:44 p.m. UPDATE: Chief Lung says he was told it will take about 2 more hours to get to victims.


2:03 p.m. UPDATE: Simmons says rescue squad is in the process of extracting the two men.

Both men are still alive.

Resources and personnel are in place.

1:39 p.m. UPDATE: Rescue efforts continue as one of the men now has an IV after making contact with the rescue squad.

Officials are communicating with the men, according to David Simmons with the Riverside Ambulance of Marked Tree.

The men are still in the bin.


1:10 p.m. UPDATE:  Chief Lung says the two men in the bin are still alive and alert.

The rescue team is pumping in oxygen to them.

One man is reportedly trapped right at the door and the other man is not far from it.

Rescue attempt is ongoing.


12:52 p.m. UPDATE: Chief Jerry Lung tells Region 8 News that two people fell in and are trapped in the bin.

Region 8 News has a crew on the way and will have updates throughout the day.


Emergency crews are responding to someone trapped in a grain bin in Marked Tree.

According to Marked Tree Dispatch, the person is trapped in a bin at Ritter Grain Services on Adamson Road.
