Man wanted in IL arrested in NEA

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Authorities are no longer searching for a man wanted out-of-state after he was arrested in northeast Arkansas.

Marshall Williams, 45, was arrested Tuesday around 2:30 p.m. by Blytheville police officers, according to Capt. Scott Adams the department's Criminal Investigation Division Commander.

Williams was a parole absconder and fugitive wanted in Illinois.

A warrant was issued for Williams at the end of June.

Adams said U.S. Marshal Bob Clark told detectives Williams might be in the Blytheville area.

Investigators found him at an apartment in the 900-block of McDaniels St.

When detectives tried to serve the warrant, Adams said Williams attempted to escape out a back window.

He was arrested and turned over to the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department where he awaits extradition.
