PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - The Collins Theater in Paragould hosted a benefit concert Saturday night in honor of Kaytlyn and Earl Yarbrough.
The Yarbroughs were local business owners, who their granddaughter Ann Marie Karaki said had a passion to help children in need.
So, all proceeds from the show go towards the Kaytlyn and Earl Yarbrough Scholarship at A-State.
Karaki said they are working to get it endowed and hope to raise around $4,000.
She said her grandparents' biggest dream was to help children get to college, and that is why she continues to keep their legacy alive.
"It thrills me to know that once a year they're going to call their names out when they're handing out those scholarships and somebody is going to remember them and benefit from their kindness for years to come," Karaki said.
The audience enjoyed three bands at the event: Full Blown Insanity, White Raven and Bulletproof.
Karaki said the scholarship will go to a local student in need who works hard yet might not get other scholarship funding.
Anyone who is interested in donating to the cause can visit A-State's donation page on their website here.
Make sure to put the donation under the Kaytlyn and Earl Yarbrough Scholarship.
