JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro farmer felt far from joyous when he discovered someone’s joyride in his tractor caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Sometime between 2:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday, someone unsuccessfully tried to remove a tractor from his land, located near the intersection of County Roads 180 and 181, according to the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department incident report.

The tractor had a 40’ land leveler connected to it when the culprit tried to move it.

The leveler, according to the victim, caught the side of a 1,000-gallon diesel tank, gouging and flipping it over.

Once free from the tank, the leveler snagged the hoses for the fuel pump, damaging them and the pump.

The farmer said the land leveler was also damaged. He estimated the total damage at $19,802.
