CRITTENDEN COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Authorities in Crittenden and surrounding counties are searching for a felon that got away in a stolen car Friday night.

According to a Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department incident report, two employees of Metro Bail Bond were transporting prisoner Joshua Burbage from Colorado to South Carolina.

They stopped at the Exxon in the 9500-block of Highway 70 to get gas and use the restroom.

The suspect was handcuffed in the front and sitting in the middle of the backseat.

The vehicle was left on because “the suspect said he was hot,” according to the report.

When one employee was inside the gas station and the other had his back turned from the vehicle, Burbage jumped in the front seat and drove off, going east on Highway 70.

According to AT&T, one phone in the car last pinged around Highway 79 and Highway 70.

Another phone then pinged on I-555 close to Highway 42 before it was turned off.

The stolen vehicle is a red 2015 Dodge Journey with a Florida license plate with tag number DFXX89.

Inside the vehicle was two tasers and a .45-caliber Glock 30 along with tactical vests.

The suspect reportedly had $80 in his pocket and has a tattoo on his neck of XXX.
