Over $3,000 stolen from Blytheville Sonic

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Blytheville police are investigating the robbery of two Sonic employees early Sunday morning.

According to Captain Scott Adams with the Blytheville Police Department, officers responded to the Sonic at 711 North 6th Street around 12:15 a.m.

One employee said she was walking out of a door on the side of the building with two bank bags when an unknown man ran up to her, demanded the money, and grabbed the bags.

There was approximately $3,800 cash in the two bags combined.

The victim said the man ran southwest behind Dixie Pig.

She described the suspect as a black man approximately 5’4” tall, 180 pounds and wearing a black sweatshirt, jeans, and a black and white hat with a string on it.

The employee said she does not know if the suspect was armed.
