Professional rodeo coming to town

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A professional rodeo will be rolling into Jonesboro next month, but a ribbon cutting for the event was held Tuesday.

The Northeast Arkansas Pro Rodeo held a ribbon cutting at the A-State Convocation Center.

Hall of Fame rodeo clown Lecile Harris was there along with Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin, Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd, stock contractor Universal Pro Rodeos, promoter Western Events LLC and other officials and sponsors.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association sanctioned rodeo is scheduled for September 16 and 17. Events will begin at 8 p.m. each night.

Tickets for the rodeo go on sale August 8 at 9 a.m.

Harris along with National Finals Rodeo and Hall of Fame announcer Bob Tallman will headline the rodeo.

Professional cowboys and cowgirls from across the U.S. will participate.
