No license plate leads to drug arrest

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - A Marmaduke man was arrested after a deputy reported finding drugs in his car.

Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Wess stated in the incident report that he pulled over Casey Allen Oost, 26, on Monday morning.

Wess said he saw a Pontiac Grand AM with no license plate going west on West Kingshighway. The stop was made at Highway 412 and N. Centerhill Rd.

When asked about the license plate, Oost told the deputy he just bought the car and hadn't had time to get it insured.

As Wess was running the Oost's information, the deputy said he saw Oost "attempting to conceal something between the driver's seat and the console."

Oost was asked to step out of the car and then asked if he had any illegal weapons or drugs on him.

The driver said no, but also indicated to the deputy he had not searched the car since he just bought it.

Oost, according to the report, allowed a search of his car.

Wess stated he found a silver key attached to a small silver screw top container.

In the container, the deputy found a baggie with 0.3 grams of suspected meth, according to the report.

Oost was arrested for possession of meth and no proof of liability insurance. He was taken to the Greene County Detention Center.

The investigation was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division.
