CROSS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Cross County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about scams that are circulating in the area.

According to a news release, residents are being called and told they failed to appear for jury duty and must pay a fine.

The Cross County Sheriff Office says court officers will never ask for a payment, credit card number, or social security number as a result of failing to appear for jury duty.

They ask that anyone receiving such calls report them immediately.

The office says there are also two men and one woman going door to door selling Kirby vacuum cleaners.

The individuals do not have a license to sell the vacuums and are driving an older white or off-white Chevrolet Utility Van.

The Cross County Sheriff's Office says if anyone has problems with these people they should call (870) 238-5700.
