TUCKERMAN, AR (KAIT) - Friends, family and even rescuers met for a vigil at the Tuckerman City Park Wednesday night to remember Dylan Person.

During this time of loss, some of the family members said they are grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.

Donnie Stapleton Jr. and Houston Tubbs are two of Person's friends from school.

Stapleton said he was there when Person first went missing.

Even though Tubbs wasn't, he heard about it and said when searchers found his friend, he burst into tears.

"That's a good thing a good co-worker was there to calm me down because I just broke out into tears right there in the middle of work, just uncontrollably because just knowing, I knew he was gone already, but just to have that verified was heartbreaking," Tubbs said.

Both friends said the things they remember most about Person was a funny dance he would do and his passion on the basketball court.

The one thing many friends and family said they will remember about Dylan was his smile, which is where his nickname "Smilin" Dylan came from.
