FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) -

Police in St. Francis County arrested 3 people in connection to vandalism at a cemetery.

According to the Forrest City Police Department’s Facebook page, a tip to the Forrest City Crimestoppers led police to the suspects.

Eighteen-year-old Cameron Jones, 25-year-old Anthony Henderson and 21-year-old Kendrick Watson, all of Forrest City, were arrested and charged with 60 counts of defacing objects of public respect.

All three appeared in court on Wednesday.

According to police, officers found multiple headstones knocked over or broken at the Forrest City Cemetery.

In all, 60 headstones were damaged.

Police Chief Deon Lee says the community pulled together to solve this crime.

“This is another example that the Crimestoppers program works and the citizens of Forrest City care about their community,” Lee said on Facebook. “We will not tolerate this type of behavior and disrespect and we intend to see this case through to the prosecution of these individuals”.
