JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

It's been a long eight months for a local pooch, but now the dog has a happy home.

We first told you about "Tippy" in January when a duck hunter found her floating down the Black River.

The hunter tried to find the dog's owner, but efforts came up fruitless.

A month passed, and those at the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society were treated to a Valentine's Day surprise when Tippy gave birth to five puppies.

Now, months later the rescued dog is now with her "furever" family, according to a recent Facebook post from the NEAHS who shared the announcement from a humane society in Illinois.
