MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) - Authorities arrested a Mountain Home man on multiple felony charges related to the distribution of meth.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office, Arkansas State Police, 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the Mountain Home Police Department made the arrest.
Dennis James Amaral,40, was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on Wednesday.
Since June 8, the sheriff's office made three controlled buys of meth from Amaral using a confidential informant.
Approximately 20.7 grams of meth were purchased for $1,000 during the buys that were monitored and recorded by investigators.
Amaral used a cell phone to make the transactions which are a crime in Arkansas.
One of the transactions also took place within 1,000 feet of a church.
Sheriff's investigators obtained a warrant to arrest Amaral and arrested him on Wednesday.
Amaral was charged with three counts of delivery of meth, three counts of unlawful use of a communications device, and proximity to certain facilities. His bond was set at $50,000.
Amaral has also been charged with possession of meth with the purpose to deliver, possession of defaced firearm, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by certain persons, and distribution of a controlled substance through other law enforcement agencies.
For these charges bond was set at $150,000.
