Governor Asa Hutchinson plans to pardon two Region 8 men of their convictions.

The applications of Howard D. Bailey Jr. of Kensett and Rodney L. Golden of Blytheville were accepted by the governor according to a press release.

Bailey was convicted of breaking or entering, theft of property, possession of a firearm by certain persons, burglary, and 2nd-degree battery charges between 1990 and 1992 in White County.

Golden was convicted for possession of a controlled substance in 1991 in Mississippi County.

The governor intends to grant 12 pardons total. He denied 37 clemency requests and took no action on eight applications.

Applicants intended for pardons have completed their jail time, fulfilled parole and probationary requirements, and paid all fines.

Law enforcement officials did not have any objections to the applicants the governor intends to pardon.
