Raise ordinance for Lawrence County employees passes

Lawrence county employees getting raises

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Lawrence County Quorum Court voted Monday night to give a 3% salary increase to some county employees.

The ordinance was passed with an emergency clause, which allowed them to waive the final reading and pass it immediately.

The raise is retroactive to January 1.

Lawrence County Clerk Tina Stowers said the 3% raise could cost the county about $78,000 for a full year.
