MARKED TREE (KAIT) -

Some Marked Tree police officers took time out of their day to help someone in need.

Officers noticed Sharon Hughes mowing her lawn and decided to stop, say hello, and offer a bottle of water.

Hughes said the bottle of water meant the world to her because times are tough for her right now.

Hughes also said she’s noticed the tensions between police and civilians around the country lately, but that's not the case in her community.

She thanked the police for their simple act of kindness.

“And they're very friendly," Hughes said. "My grandson, he has to wave 'hey police, hey.' you know.".

Hughes hopes the police will continue to keep a good relationship with the citizens of Marked Tree.
