OSCEOLA, AR (KAIT) -

Police arrested an Osceola man in connection to a kidnapping that reportedly happened in July.

According to the arrest report, around 11:30 p.m. on July 9, an Osceola officer was advised that a red Dodge Challenger was headed toward Osceola from Wilson and had a woman and three juveniles in it that were taken at gunpoint.

The officer saw the alleged car on Highway 61 and began to follow it.

The car sped up and began running off the road and through a ditch. It stopped on the railroad tracks.

When the officer made it to the car, he saw two men running away from it.

The woman and three children got out of the smoking car.

According to the woman, her boyfriend called her and said he was almost home and told her to unlock the door.

A few minutes later, two other men with guns came inside the house and threw her boyfriend on the ground.

The men demanded money from the woman’s boyfriend.

He reportedly told them he had $200 on him but that he had $5,000 at a house in Wilson.

They told the woman, man, and three children to get in a car and they drove to Wilson.

Once at the house, the woman’s boyfriend and one of the suspects went into the house.

The male victim told police that he unlocked the door to the house and told his aunt, who was inside, to go get his money.

The suspect then demanded he get on the ground and pointed the gun at the aunt.

The victim then grabbed the gun and started fighting the suspect.

The gun went off and shot his aunt in the foot.

The suspect then left the house, got back in the car, and sped off toward Osceola.

On July 29, Regis Storm Ervin, 24, was arrested without incident in connection to the kidnapping case.

On August 1, he agreed to answer questions about the incident.

He denied having any involvement in the crime.

Ervin is charged with five counts of kidnapping, six counts of aggravated robbery, first-degree battery, and two counts of residential burglary.
