Democrats plan to sue over Arkansas voting list

LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KARK) - The Democratic Party of Arkansas plans to file a lawsuit after a mistake in a voter list would have prevented certain people from voting.

According to NBC affiliate KARK-TV, Arkansas Democrats claim the Secretary of State's office broke the law. They've requested all documents from Secretary Mark Martin's office regarding voter information and the ACIC data.

Several weeks ago, thousands of eligible voters were mistakenly listed as felons, which made them ineligible to vote.

"The fact that they messed this up, the fact that they didn't comply with the law tells you something fishy is going on," Chris Burks, attorney for the Democratic Party of Arkansas, told KARK.

As of Wednesday morning, the Secretary of State's office has not commented on the claims.
