ASL sales up in July

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansans shelled out big bucks in July in the hope of getting lucky.

Arkansas Scholarship Lottery officials say they sold $6.5 million more tickets in July than last year.

Draw game sales were up 77 percent over July 2015 figures.

The ASL attributes the increase to large jackpots in the Powerball and Mega Millions games.

ASL instant ticket sales were up 8 percent, or more than $2 million, over 2015's sales.
