JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is celebrating the life of music superstar Elvis Presley.

The library is hosting an Elvis Week celebration that kicks off on Aug. 15 with a tribute concert at 6:00 p.m.

The Backtrac Band will perform their rendition of Elvis' hits in the library's round room.

"I think what we have more fun with is getting together and reminiscing about the music," said bass player Gene Barnett. "When 'Hound Dog' came out and 'Don't Be Cruel' came out, I think that was the first 45 record I ever bought. I had to mow yards or something to get enough money to buy it."

There will also be other events throughout the week including a look-alike contest, an Elvis photo op booth, and a trivia contest with a grand prize of two tickets to Graceland.

The grand prize will be awarded at the end of the week.

For more information, you can visit the library at 315 West Oak Avenue in Jonesboro, visit their website or call 870-935-5133 ext. 9950.
