JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are searching for two men caught on camera robbing a convenience store clerk at gunpoint.

Two black males dressed in all-dark clothing and wearing masks entered Citgo, 3910 S. Caraway, around 1 a.m. Friday.

Both suspects appeared to hold semi-automatic handguns, according to the initial incident report. One of the guns appeared to have an extended clip.

Store surveillance video showed the men searching throughout the store, looking for the clerk. When they found him, they led him to the cash register and made him open it, the report stated.

After grabbing the cash in the register, the clerk said the suspects told him to open the store’s safe. When he said he did not have access to it, the two men then ran out of the store.

The robbers were last seen running toward the north side of the business.

Several officers responded to the call and searched the area looking for the suspects. A K9 unit also responded and attempted to track the two men, but stopped at the rear of the business where it’s presumed the suspects parked a vehicle.

Anyone with information on the holdup should call Crimestoppers at 935-STOP (7867).
