TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) - A boy finally meets his service dog after a long wait.
Region 8 News reported last week, the Mason family left for Ohio to begin training with Cooper's service dog.
This experience was made possible thanks to local generosity.
While they have raised funds for the dog since 2014, they just found out what kind of service dog Cooper will receive. The service dog is to help Cooper who has Aspergers, a form of autism.
Cooper's mom Jaclyn Mason sent a photo of Cooper's dog to Region 8 News.
In Ohio, Cooper will meet and train with Fandral, a Goldendoodle born in April 2015.
Fandral "sent" Cooper an email telling him how excited he is to meet him.
"Hey there Cooper my boy, buddy, BFF, littermate," the email said.
Fandral was trained at 4 Paws for Ability and stayed with a couple of foster families before completing graduate work.
The family is posting about their journey at 4 Paws for Ability on their Facebook page.
The Mason family will spend two weeks in Ohio to train with Fandral.
