Bridge work to begin in Marmaduke

Bridge work to begin in Marmaduke

MARMADUKE, AR (KAIT) - Traffic patterns will change for residents in Marmaduke.

Construction to replace the bridge on North First Street should begin Monday.

Mayor Steve Dixon says after dealing with aging, corrosion, and reduced weight limits, work will begin to replace the bridge with a box culvert that will be paved.

Dixon said construction should take 2-3 weeks at the most but is expected to be finished by the end of next week, weather permitting.

The bridge will remain closed until crews wrap up construction.
