CORNING, AR (KAIT) -

Traffic could be slow at a main railroad crossing in Clay County.

The crossing at Highway 62 in Corning is closed to one lane of traffic because the tracks were damaged.

According to Corning Police Chief Jimmy Leach, a vehicle carrying a trailer got caught on the tracks ripping up parts of the concrete and track.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Leach said traffic is allowed through, but it is one lane and could be slow at times while the railroad company works on the damage.

The chief asked that drivers be cautious through the area especially with the continued rain in Clay County.
