BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

The brakes are put on an annual race at a local speedway.

Batesville Motor Speedway announced the cancellation of the 24th Annual Comp Cams/Crop Production Services Topless 100.

The race was scheduled for Aug. 18-20 at the speedway.

A Facebook post states heavy rain and more rain in the forecast led to the cancellation.

"We have had over six inches of rain over the past three days and the forecast shows more rain throughout Saturday. We feel that it is best to make this decision early for the benefit of our racers and fans," Mooney Starr, owner of Batesville Motor Speedway said as part of the post.

For those who have bought tickets early, call 870-251-0011 for refunds.

Visit the speedway's website for more information.
