KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - A Kennett cemetery now has a place for your furry friends.
Many people are buried at the Dunklin Memorial Gardens, and now there is a section designated just for family pets.
Mona Sutton, the groundskeeper, has been working on this pet cemetery for several years, and now it's coming to light.
Among the 25 pets buried in the cemetery is Jim Counts' dog, Sassy.
He said his 15-year-old Maltese was like a child, and he knows he'll always have a secure place to visit her now.
"We can come here anytime we want to and spend a little time with her and remember what she was like when she was with us," he said.
For families who don't want to bury their pets, there's also a scattering garden for cremains.
Sutton says the garden is very similar to a human gravesite.
The cemetery offers plots, headstones, and caskets for all pets, including dogs, cats, snakes, hamsters and fish.
