Free GED courses available at two Region 8 campuses

ASH FLAT, AR (KAIT) -

Two Region 8 campuses are offering free General Educational Development (GED) classes.

Ozarka College is offering the courses on its campuses in Melbourne, Ash Flat, Mammoth Spring and Mountain View under the following schedule:

  • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Melbourne
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays in Ash Flat
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mammoth Spring and Mountain View

Registration for the class in ongoing.

The Baxter County Adult Education Center is also hosting free GED classes.

The classes are available at the Baxter County Adult Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening.

The center offers several courses including math, writing skills, and reading comprehension, as well as refresher courses for college prep, military or employability.

Registration is also ongoing at this site located at 1106 Highway 62 East, Suites 1 and 3 in Mountain Home.
