Literacy Project to hold tutor training workshop

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

The Ozark Foothills Literacy Project will hold a tutor-training workshop on Monday, Aug. 22, at 1 p.m.

The Literacy Project, which serves Fulton, Sharp, Izard, and Independence Counties, teaches adults who are learning to read and those who are learning English.

It relies on trained volunteers to provide one-on-one tutoring for its adult students. There are approximately 15 students waiting for tutors.

The workshop will be held in the Literacy Project’s new office located at 156 S. 3rd St. in Batesville. To register or for more information, call (870) 793-5912 or email morgan@oflp.org.
