BONO, AR (KAIT) -

Heavy rain caused some Bono neighborhoods to appear as small lakes.

The rain quickly filled ditches, covered roads and crept into driveways in several Bono neighborhoods.

The water in a neighborhood behind Bono Church of Christ was so high, many of the homeowners could not get out of their driveways.

Rachel Bennett has lived in the neighborhood for 3 years and Friday’s heavy rain forced her and her children to spend the morning indoors.

“This is probably the deepest I’ve seen our cove,” Bennett said. “I was really shocked. I came out and tried a couple of times to get my car out and then my neighbor in the cove tried to get out in her SUV and she couldn’t. So, I knew that I wouldn’t be able to get out in my car.”

Bennett said the cove does flood often but it usually drains quickly.

However, that was not the case as the water continued to linger in the neighborhood Friday morning.
