JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police arrested a man after they say he tried to pay for his food with counterfeit cash.
According to the incident report, it happened at 12:08 p.m. Friday at the Sonic located at 724 S. Gee Street.
Police received calls about counterfeit money and when they arrived on the scene the manager said an employee was given a fake $100 bill.
Timothy J. Quinn, 29, of Jonesboro placed an order and attempted to pay with the counterfeit cash.
The manager told police because of policy changes the employee could not give Quinn change out of money she had.
The employee went into the business to show the manager the cash and that's when they realized it was fake.
When police spoke to Quinn he said he got the money from a bank but did not tell police which bank.
Quinn was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where he awaits a probable cause hearing.
