Poinsett County Fair begins with new attractions

HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) -

A Region 8 fair kicks off with more attractions.

The Poinsett County Fair begins Tuesday, Aug. 23, in Harrisburg.

The fair goes on all week and ends Saturday night.

Festivities get started at 5 p.m. every night with games and carnival rides.

Armband night will be every night of the fair for $18.

As Region 8 News reported in July, the fair board is working to bring more attractions to the fair to gain more attendance. New features include a hot dog eating contest, talent contest, gospel night, and games for the kids.

Livestock judging is Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m. with rabbits and poultry.

Cows, goats, swine, and sheep judging will be Friday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m.

The talent show is set for Thursday evening.
