Man arrested after threatening to kill someone

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Paragould police arrested a man they said threatened to kill another person at an area hospital.

According to a Greene County District Court affidavit, officers responded to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center on Aug.19.

When police arrived at the hospital, they saw James Earl Murphy Jr., 43, acting "extremely agitated" and told him to leave.

The affidavit said Murphy left in a dark-colored truck.

A witness at the hospital told police they heard Murphy threaten to kill one of the patients in the emergency room.

Later, police went to a home in the 5600-block of West Kingshighway where Murphy reportedly threatened another man.

Murphy again left in the truck.

A witness identified the truck Murphy was in at the home and at the hospital.

Murphy was charged with terroristic threatening and was issued a $100,000 bond.
