JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro man claims he was shot at while picking up a friend in North Jonesboro.

The 26-year-old victim said the shooting happened at 8:45 p.m. Sunday while he was in the area of Belt and Melrose.

According to the initial incident report, he said he was picking up a friend who lives in the area when another man came out from a building and started firing a gun.

He said the shooter then ran to a white Buick Roadmaster with a broken rear window and sped away on Belt Street.

The victim told police he “did not notice” until Monday that a bullet had hit the hood of his vehicle. His insurance agent told him to file a police report.

There are no named suspects, and the victim did not provide a detailed description of the alleged suspect.
