JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The United Way of Northeast Arkansas will host its 2016 Day of Service project in September.

The group helps local non-profit organizations and community organizations raise money and complete projects.

Local organizations are asked to submit projects they need help to complete to the United Way of NEA.

To kick off the 2016 campaign for 2016, the United Way is looking for volunteers to knock out a few service projects on its Sept. 30 Day of Caring.

“It’s awesome for local businesses, for team building, and for everybody to get out and help people who are really in need,” said Heidi Rigsbee, a committee member. “It helps the non-profit, it helps the local businesses, it promotes teamwork and helps get their name out there.”

If you’re interested in submitting a service project or becoming a volunteer, call the United Way of NEA at 870-935-3658 or visit their website.

The deadline for registration is Aug. 31
