JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are investigating after one car was stolen and several others were broken into at B&B Auto Salvage and Sales, 4606 Keller’s Chapel Rd.

According to the incident report, the owner told officers a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox was stolen sometime between 2 p.m. Aug. 20 and Aug. 22.

Eight vehicles were also broken into, including the victim’s personal vehicle. Approximately $3,000 worth of stereo equipment and paperwork was stolen from inside of it.

The rest of the vehicles did not have anything stolen out of them.

Dispatch told officers that a Craighead County sheriff’s deputy found the Equinox in a ditch and had it towed.

While an officer was processing the car, he noticed what appeared to be a projectile deflection on the hood, which “was consistent with a bullet trajectory,” according to the report.

A phone was found in the car which did not belong to the car’s owner.

Officers also found several pieces of evidence in the car including hair and a chewed up straw. No usable prints could be collected, though.

If you have any information about this crime that could help police, call Crimestoppers at 935-7867 (STOP).
