BONO, AR (KAIT) - A woman is recovering and a man is in jail after a shooting in Bono.

According to Bono police, 22-year-old Matthew Carresco of Bono was arrested after reportedly shooting his girlfriend.

Authorities were called to School Street around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Carresco shot his girlfriend, Celene Lopez, in the leg with a .22-caliber rifle.

Bono Police Chief Michael Parrish said the couple argued over some emails Carresco received.

"It got heated and escalated to him grabbing a gun," the chief said.

Lopez was taken to a hospital.

Carresco is facing charges of first-degree battery and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

His bond was set at $30,000 and a no contact order was issued.
