POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) - Poplar Bluff police are searching for a man in connection to leaving the scene of an accident where a 13-year-old girl died.
The police department is asking for help locating 42-year-old Randel Sparks.
Sparks was last known to live in Ozark, Missouri.
He did not appear for a court date for his Dec. 9, 2015 arrest for leaving the scene of an accident that killed Heavenly Hafford.
While investigating the crash, officers learned that Sparks owned a blue Volkswagen Beetle, which matched the description of the suspected vehicle provided by witnesses.
Sparks was then found at a storage facility on Peach Street where he was removing parts from his vehicle, according to a press release from the police department.
He was then arrested for felony leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence.
Poplar Bluff Police Chief Danny Whiteley stated they will use all available resources to find Sparks, who he described as a "fugitive from justice, who is obviously unremorseful."
If you know where Sparks might be, contact the Poplar Bluff Police Department or local law enforcement.
