BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A Baxter County man is behind bars after being accused of assaulting his next door neighbor.

Sheriff John Montgomery states Ian Michael Tice, 35, of Mountain Home was arrested Wednesday morning following a reported disturbance.

Deputies were called to the 4200-block of Buzzard Roost Road just before 4 a.m. after a man reported his girlfriend was assaulted by Tice who was living next door.

The man told investigators he heard his girlfriend screaming as he approached her house.

Once inside the complainant said he saw Tice on top of her and then the men fought.

Tice reportedly had a pistol in his hand, according to the sheriff's news release.

After the fight, Tice returned to his home where deputies talked with him.

According to Montgomery, deputies observed "injuries to his face and neck when they spoke with him." The deputies also noticed drug paraphernalia (smoking pipes) while in his home as well as a pistol and a holster.

Tice denied accusations made by the couple, but was eventually arrested after follow-up questioning.

He was charged with three felonies including residential burglary and aggravated assault.

Tice's bond was set at $75,000, but he is also in the Baxter County Detention Center without bond for a probation revocation charge.

He will appear in circuit court Thursday.
