Police searching for suspect who broke into home

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are searching for a person who broke into an apartment and stole multiple items.  

According to the incident report, police responded to a residential burglary on Saturday at 3:23 a.m. on the 400-block of Melrose Street.  

Police said they spoke with the victim who said he noticed the suspect busted out a window. 

The report stated the cabinets in both the kitchen and bathroom had been opened and ransacked.  

Items on a bathroom shelf were moved and there were grocery bags and personal care products scattered on the floor of another room.  

The victim found boxes scattered on the bedroom floor.  

Police found an empty toaster box as well as the box for a vacuum cleaner.  

The victim told police several of his belongings were missing including a flat screen television, hair clippers, a nail machine, nail accessories, a vacuum cleaner, a toaster oven and Chi hair products.  

Police also found a small rock lying beside the back door that had “Phillip” written on it.  

The victim told police he has never seen the rock and it was logged into evidence.  

The investigation is ongoing.
