CROSS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A former Cross County sheriff died Sunday after a battle with cancer.

Sheriff JR Smith posted about Ronnie Baldwin's death on the department's Facebook page.

"I'm proud to have been his friend and lucky to have him as one of my biggest supporters in everything I did, especially being Cross County Sheriff," Smith wrote.
