Police investigating aggravated robbery

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Blytheville police are investigating one aggravated robbery and an attempted robbery from over the weekend.

According to Captain Scott Adams, officers responded to the Flash Market, 1305 E. Main St., around 10:15 p.m. Saturday for an aggravated robbery.

When police arrived they spoke to a store employee who said two black men came into the store with guns.

He said one suspect confronted a customer, pointing a gun at him or her and demanding property.

The other suspect reportedly went behind the counter, pointed a gun at employees, and stole money from the cash register.

Both men ran from the store going east. No one was hurt during the robbery.

In a separate case, officers were contacted by the management of the KFC at 901 N. 6th St. around 11:20 a.m. Sunday about an attempted robbery.

The manager said she got a call from her night shift manager around 11 p.m. Saturday.

The employee reported that several black men wearing masks and gloves had attempted to rob the store, according to the press release.

The men reportedly had handguns. They did not get into the store because the employees had already locked the doors.

Officers did review security video of the incident.
