KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - Police say they need the public's help identifying a group of suspects accused of stealing thousands on prepaid cards.
According to the Kennett Police Department, officers were called to Walmart, 1500 1st St., to investigate the theft around 8 p.m. Monday.
Officers were told four female suspects came into the store, went to the electronics department and spoke with an employee.
Two of the suspects pulled "several" Visa prepaid credit cards and told the employee they wanted to load them with money.
Police state the suspects "gave extra instruction which caused the scam to occur" and the cards were loaded with amounts totaling close to $10,000.
