LITTLE ROCK, AR - In an effort to sway Arkansas Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, a group backing President Bush's judicial nominees is buying time to run statewide ads. The ads urge the Democrats to bring the nominees up for votes. The ads urge giving nominees a chance to prove themselves in up or down votes.
Organizers say the ads started Monday in Arkansas and are to run through Sunday, but may run longer.
Lincoln spokesman Drew Goesl says the senator is exercising her right to advise and consent on judicial nominations.
Pryor noted that he has supported 107 of Bush's judicial nominees but says some allow their political beliefs to cloud their judgement, and those are the ones he opposes.
