MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) -

The Riverside Ambulance Service in Marked Tree has a new service available for residents in the town and surrounding areas.

Director David Simmons said it is called the electronic caregiver system. It is a medical alert and home safety system.

The system comes with a wrist pendant with help buttons. It also has motion, carbon monoxide, and smoke detectors.

If any of the detectors go off, first responders are immediately contacted.

Simmons said they can install these at any home and will program them for the resident.

He said this is something they have needed in Marked Tree for some time.

The service works with both landlines and cell phones.

“They will get in contact with the family along with contacting emergency personnel that needs to be sent there,” Simmons said. “Some of the other systems only work with landlines. This system here actually can work with a cell phone also if you don’t have a landline.”

The system also allows the user to program in medical reminders and the system alerts you when it’s time to take medicine.

Simmons said they started installing them on Monday and have already gotten positive feedback.

If you want to know more about this system, call (870) 358-3970.
