Man charged with 2 counts of residential burglary

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A man arrested in connection with several recent burglaries has been charged.

David Collins was charged with 2 counts of residential burglary, on Thursday at a PC hearing.

Collins was also charged with 7 counts of breaking and entering and 6 counts of theft.
His bond was set at $50,000

According to Detective Justin Rollands, 20-year-old Collins was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the burglaries.

Collins will be charged with around 15 counts of breaking and entering and one count of residential burglary.

The thefts happened in both Jonesboro and Brookland.

Deputies developed Collins as a suspect early Tuesday morning while working several vehicle break-ins that happened in the past few days.

They went to a house where he was staying at but were unable to talk to Collins.

Deputies then talked to the homeowner and were able to get a key to the house.

They searched the home and found Collins along with several pieces of stolen property.

That property links him to several of the breaking and entering cases and the residential burglary.

Deputies also recovered a stolen car.

The Brookland Police Department assisted the sheriff's department in the investigation.
